About Us

Talkies was created out of love and respect for our furry family. And an appreciation, as dog owners ourselves, that life is super busy, and looking after a dog takes time and effort that we don’t always have to spare.

Everyone involved in Talkies has had a dog, because we want to bring that knowledge, compassion and experience to everything we do. We’re building this for you and your dog.

Often problems can start to happen without you knowing how or why, and you’re left with expensive behaviourist bills or an unhappy dog. Or worse.

We’re all curious about what our dogs are thinking. We’ve all wondered “is my dog really happy?” or “what does my dog really think of me?” We’ve all wished we could communicate with our dogs more fluently, and understand their language better.

If you have too, you know what to do.

This is Fergus, a Romanian streetdog rescue. He’s the inspiration behind Talkies. He’s eight, super smart, hyper-vigilant and reactive when he feels unsafe.

He lives with Muna, our Founder. Muna had to learn to understand him better, to help him not be terrified of the world. That’s why she learned about body language and how to see the world from Fergus’ perspective, and now she feels that Fergus speaks to her in full sentences. That’s how she came up with the idea for Talkies.
