About Us

Talkies was created out of love and respect for our furry family. And an appreciation, as dog owners ourselves, that life is super busy, and looking after a dog takes time and effort that we don’t always have to spare.

Talkies is made up of dog experts, including behaviourists and trainers, dog owners like you, as well as technologists. Everyone involved in Talkies is or has been a dog owner, because we want to bring that knowledge, compassion and experience to everything we do. We’re building this for you and your dog.

Why is it we get taught how to drive, read, swim, but not how to understand man’s best friend? Often problems can start to happen without you knowing how or why, and you’re left with expensive behaviourist bills or an unhappy dog. Or worse.

We’re all curious about what our dogs are thinking. We’ve all wondered “is my dog really happy?” or “what does my dog really think of me?” We’ve all wished we could communicate with our dogs more fluently, and understand their language better.

Well, wonder no more! Talkies helps you to decipher it. 

This is Fergus, a Romanian streetdog rescue. He’s the inspiration behind Talkies. He’ll be eight in June.

He lives with Muna, our Founder. He’s reactive, as he had a tough start in life. So Muna had to learn to understand him better, to help him not be terrified of the world. That’s why she learned about body language, and now she feels that Fergus speaks to her in full sentences through his body. That’s how she came up with the idea for Talkies! He’s doing really well now and loving life in Bucks! It’s been the most satisfying journey and he’s worth every minute.

Because of Fergus, more dog owners will be able to have fun understanding their dog’s better.
